Can I Get Cell Phone Service In Larsen Bay Alaska

I take lived and traveled effectually Alaska since May 2006. My Cingular service worked smashing until 12 / 28 / 06. Cingular did inform me that this would happen and offered me to back out of my contract because of it. They explained that they will no longer pay to use other carriers towers. My phone is completely expressionless in Homer and I assume all over AK as they said it would be. However, I have non been outside of Homer since my service went dead.

1. Very Poor coverage 14 miles out on East End Rd ii. Get gratuitous 50.D. My Fifty.D. calls are mysteriously cut off after about 2 min. - happens every time three. Tried a free upgrade to their digital arrangement. When I discovered I would be committing to an additional ii twelvemonth contract I returned the phone per our agreement. They tried to hold me to the 2 year contract even though the phone was returned and never activated.

I am very disapointed with Cellular One service. Every three months or so nosotros lose service for about ii weeks. It tends to go out for 2-3 twenty-four hours completly then when it comes back calls are dropped, phones don't ring, vocalism messages are recieved HOURS later they are left. And new this month... .I can't answer a call no matter how many time I press the respond button, and I can't end calls no thing how many times I press the Cease button. This would seem to be a trouble with my model of phone but alas, it is happening to othe people who have different models and brands of phones!

I'm disappointed that there is No Service here. My telephone had corking reception just most my unabridged trip across the country (I relocated to Kodiak AK from Eastport ME). Even the first half hour on the ferry from Homer AK to Kodiak I had service - (bouncing off of Cellular 1 towers). I have No Service here in Kodiak, although other people with cell phones practise have service - simply they have Dart / Nextel as their carrier. I really did non want to switch carriers, but it looks like I am not going to have any other choice but to switch.... unless Cingular hears my pleas and decides to build a tower hither on the island!

I really wish that Cellular Ane would extend the range of their TDMA service out to where I alive. I mean gosh ACS setup a CDMA tower non even a mile away from where I live. I talked with a CellOne rep and he said that they were going to expand their GSM service surface area for Seward but he besides said that they were going to go out TDMA service the way that it currently is and I don't want to switch GSM nonetheless. Only my overall service has been fine I've only had i or 2 droped calls. So other than the fact that I can't make call using my cell phone at my firm I retrieve Cellular One is doing an okay job.

Frustrated! Get very little reception - usually busy signal, or drops call after made..lucky to get one or 2 bars sometimes... useless phone service... .on the onetime AT&T digital plan

Very poor to no reception in the aforementioned areas that my Nokia had total forcefulness the entire time. Don't know what the problem is, but the phone is basically useless to me. I take to go dorsum to using the gratis telephone Cell Ane gave me.

Sentry out for CellOne as they are turning down their TDMA network. I am unable to make calls 75% of the time within Seward Proper with full signal, the other xx% of the time my phone call is dropped inside v-thirty seconds of connecting to their network. Often if I switch to Analog I may take meliorate chances of actually making a successful call. Most calls become straight to voice mail service. No useful coverage by Mile iii (Three Bridges). ACS works to mile ten and picks back upwards at mile 12.

AT&T Wireless (GSM)

We were too using the AT&T GSM phones for the iii of us, and information technology worked perfectly even while nosotros fished. We were in Seward and Homer likewise, and information technology worked with four bars. Mountains were a little scary, only it still worked. I was told past AT&T that the GSM will not work. They do this to have you exit your phone at home and rent. They practice not want anyone to make them pay the roaming costs from Cellular One. If you take GSM AT&T - accept it along because it will piece of work and the roaming is great. AT&T does non desire you to hear this.

Good reception along nigh of the Sterling Highway from Anchorage to Homer. A few brusque "dead" spots near Summit Lake and Cooper Landing.
